I admit it. I am addicted to grocery shopping. I can spend hours wandering the aisles, reading nutritional info, checking out bargains and coming up with new recipes to entice my picky 7-year-old to try a new fruit, vegetable or high-fiber food. I know, I know. You think I'm crazy, or bored or have too much time on my hands. The truth is, I am a working single mother, pediatrician and diabetic who has struggled with obesity and tried nearly every popular diet on the market for the past thirty years. In addition, I have spent about eighteen years advising parents about their children's nutrition and nearly fifteen years in private practice helping overweight children, teens and their families struggle with creating good eating habits while living on modest budgets.
Let my hobby/career interest/passion be your source of information, tips and recipes. Visit weekly for an update as I navigate the aisles of my local supermarket. Invite friends, family and others to join us as we work to make more healthful choices without breaking the bank or making unrealistic demands on our busy schedules.
Besides subscribing to my weekly blog, you can check out the attached pages for ideas and suggestions that never go out of style. Be sure to check out my other blogs as well.
